Hello dear friends!
Well, Wellness Week 2014 has OFFICIALLY come to an end, and it did not disappoint! If you follow me on facebook, you know that I actually couldn't be AS connected with social media as I wanted to be because up north I got NO cell connection and MINIMAL wifi. Errrrrgo, I'm SO SORRY that I couldn't keep up with daily assignments but I did pop in every time I could to make sure ya'll were reading your books and eating your vegetables!
I want to do a quick recap of how I've spent the last week, so bare with my photo montages of some of my FAVOURITE things. I don't even know where to begin!
So, for the first part of my childhood I grew up in a small town thats further North in Ontario from where I am now, called Owen Sound. In surrounding areas there are a lot of cute little beach towns and Ports that I have frequently visited in my youth and adult life, and thats where my family and I ended up - a small town hugging BEAUTIFUL ocean Lake Huron (the most badass lake around). I went up with my parents and sister Emilie, and the time away from my phone and internet and city lyfe was so much needed. I got a LOT of reading in, and a lot of exercise outside. Worked on the tan, swam (flailed around in the freezing water with my tiny uncoordinated limbs...seriously, it's embarrassing) and spent some quality time eating the most DEELISH food (#overit!).
Here are some of the things I experienced on Wellness Week 2014! I hope that you soon get the chance to go somewhere quiet, even for only a few days and UNPLUG for a bit. I was able to wake up around 7-8 every morning, make myself a coffee and work on personal development - which was my MAJOR intent for this trip. I had so many a-ha moments and was able to map out my goals for the next 6 months on paper. Some people say the most successful people write their goals down, as a constant and "in-your-face" reminder that they can achieve anything. So ON that note, I want to share the book with you that I read DEMOLISHED during this trip - an AMAZING personal development testimant and WEALTH of knowledge by Darren Hardy (founder of SUCCESS Magazine). The book was actually recommended to me by some of my great friends and mentors that I have recently come into contact with. The book is called
THE COMPOUND EFFECT, Darren Hardy
(Jumpstart your income, your life, your success - it SERIOUSLY did not disappoint. I'm almost finished it and cannot wait to apply the methods he has used throughout his life and career.
It's 15 dollars on Amazon. GO! BUY! Now. Please?
LETS GET TO THE NITTY GRITTY. ENJOY MY FRIENDS. Where are some of your places to vacation and unwind? Leave a comment, I'd love to know :)

Catching Emilie "catch the action!" |
In town, there is this AMAZING bakery that bakes fresh goodies every morning. While I was exercising pretty much daily, I couldn't resist stopping in here once or twice to get a treat!
One of the days Emmy and I took a LONG walk all through town, and ALL along the shoreline. We spent a fun morning together drinking loose leaf tea, playing in the water and taking some shameless selfies. When you go on your Wellness Week, its a good time to give your face and hair a break too! AKA - no makeup or hair products. Cannot wait to deep condition my mop hair tomorrow.
STORY. Wellness Week actually had its origins in a week of cottaging with BOTH of my sisters and my best friend, Mary. Our first trip was 6 years ago in 2008 and was originally called "Babe Week." A week of bigging ourselves up, crying on the beach about our non existent boyfriends, and talking about how HAWT the Jonas Brothers were. I can't believe I was 17 back then. Crazy to think back at how far we've come :P. Nonetheless, it was SO sad not having Mary and Katie there! So we paid serious homage to them by spending a few minutes writing messages to them in the sand!
Just a little tipsy topsy yoga on the rocks in the water.

The awesome treehouse/bunky in the woods behind our cottage! It's been 6 years and I have yet to sleep in it....
^^^^Lol. It's important to have some Canadian beer on vacation. And pay homage to the Canadian Cowboys. I see you, ma ;)
Even though we TRIED to remain unplugged, we couldn't resist the adorable and unique boutiques along the main strip! I even bought a piece or two!

The last two days we spent visiting out dear friends, Latasha and Denise who were kind enough to put us up! We spent the a few of our dayshanging out in their SWEET little kidney shaped pool, going to dinner and having bonfires. It was so great seeing them again after all these years.

CEDAR FIRE! SNAP CRACKLE POP. |
Each night my family and I walked to lovely High street and treated ourselves to ice cream (yeah...EVERY NIGHT...serious vacation mode) at the little food market there. I'm certainly gonna miss that HOKEY POKEY ice cream! Geeze Louise.
ANYWAYS. I have a lot more pictures but this blog is starting to get uncoordinated!!!!! Wellness Week was a total success and I can't wait to hear stories from some of my friends who partook in the activities! But now its back to reality which means BACK ON MA GRIND.
Side Note: I'm IN LOVE with drapey kimono sweater cardigan over coaty things. This was the only real purchase I made on my trip. Isn't it CUTE AND COLOURFUL?
Apart from the new kimono, I gained a serious tan, and lost some tummy definition FO REALZ from my rum and cokes, ice cream trips and bakery paloozas. Am I mad about it? HECK NO. It's so good to give your body a break sometimes. PLUS.... T25 PHASE 2 STARTS TOMORROW! So excited I already have my nike gear on! :) Will post soon with progress pics and recommendations. I hope everyone enjoys the rest of hot and sunny August, I know I plan to!
xo Meags
P.S... This is kinda what me and Emilie do for fun... DEDICATED TO THE OTHER BABES FROM BABE WEEK o8*
