HELLO FRIENDS.
It's Monday, the worst day of the week. Monday needs a little spice, no?
DUN DUN DUN.... Introducing MUSIC MONDAY! I realized I've THRILLED you all with my embarrassing knowledge of at home workouts, but I want you to get to know me :) First and foremost, I LOVE LOVE LOVE music; it is undoubtedly crucial to my very essence! I'm a self taught musician, which I'll probably write an entire blog on later, and even play in a indie pop/singer/songwriter/acoust swagger duo called We Sisters Three. I'd love for you to check out my music as soon as I record an E.P with my sister!
ANYWAYS. The point of music monday is to swap recommendations for new/old music out there alike. What bands are you listening to lately? Are you on a specific kick right now listening to one artist or genre? What's your FAVOURITE song atm!? Music is so versatile and I love listening to as much as I can, so comment on this blog post if you have anything for me to check out :)
Last night I went to a show in a small town here in southern Ontario to see a band from Vancouver called Hey Ocean. They were AWESOME. If you like indie folk that you can move/jive to, you'll really adore this band. They also put on an INCREDIBLE live show! Check them out on youtube.
Equally as incredible was the tour opener, a new Canadian indie band on the scene called HIGHS, which was who I really went to see in the first place! Their energy is undeniable and they will get you grooving no problem! Their approach to song writing and finding their own sound is unique and innovative, and I have no doubt that they will be doing big things and making tons of fans in the future!
So without further ado, HIGHS is my music pick for you this Monday!
Check out their studio recording of on my my faves, "Nomads," and also a live version for some fun :)
Make sure you post one back for me! I want to know what you're listening to lately!
